Survey Systems was tasked with verifying and implementing Trimble Center Point RTX for the Lower Colorado River. Our objective was to collect and coordinate three survey vessels, with three unique sensor packages, while collecting 670 line miles of hydrographic survey data across the remote American Southwest. This was a historical and immense undertaking by the companies involved. Utilizing Trimble Center Point allowed us to tie all three platforms together to collect, check, and combine multi-beam survey data, shallow water aerial LIDAR, and data from GPS and robotic total stations. Every day spent on the water was evaluated the following day at our home base of operations. The final result was a full surface of the Lower Colorado River from the Hoover Dam to Mexico.
